Jamie: So, Pro-Direct Sport is an absolute gem of a place. Steeped in rich history as it is on paper and as it is within the market, we are the world’s largest online multi-sport specialists.

Harry: When Pro-Direct was looking at a HR management system, the reason it signed for [inaudible 00:00:23] is because it could align with our brand, it could grow with us, it provided that simple accessible front-end support for employees, but ultimately, I think it was reporting. That was something that we have never had access to before CIPHR. The reporting functionality and the report designer specifically in CIPHR has allowed us to create, tailor-made reports that allows us to roll with the punches of various different changes with employment law and things like that. Specifically, national living wage, the gender pay gap reporting and various other internal changes that we’ve had such as changes to the holiday year, changes to people’s whole entitlements as the years go on. It’s been great.

In terms of other business departments, we’ve been able to provide them with reports and data that they didn’t have access to previously. So, for example, in recent changes when we’ve had to implement national living wage, we’ve been able to capture that data that we need in terms of the employees that are affected by that and also look at what impact that has on to employees that aren’t necessarily directly affected, such as a pay gap erosion between lower-level staff and senior staff. So it’s been able to give added level of clarity to that information that we’ve never had before and it allows us to transpose that into other areas of the business so that we can go to the senior leadership team and say, “Look what we’ve found out. This is something you really need to think about.” So, yes, it’s been great in that respect.

With regards to collating the payroll information that we need to give to payroll every month, it’s been a Godsend. It’s reduced the amount of time that we spend collecting that information every month by about 80%. So it’s a huge improvement. So, the 80% reduction in terms of a real term, I suppose, would be…previously we would have to spend about a week and a half collating information that payroll need by using a very complex and comprehensive spreadsheet system in Google Docs. But as the company grew, it was just starting to break at the seams. It was starting to struggle. There was too much information in there. So CIPHR came along at the right time, especially with the pay link because it allowed us to provide a level of automation to collating that information that Payroll require. So, going back to what used to take us a week and a half, now takes two days a month. I suppose a week and a half in the month of a HR administrator is quite a lot of staff time and spend for the company.

So now we are freed up to do the important things that HR needs to be focusing on. As I said, we proactively try to improve process, try and improve the links that we have with the different departments in the business. Gathering data is something that we’ve been able to focus a lot more on and provide that to the departments in the business so that we’re giving a lot more support that is needed. So, on an annual basis, it’s saving us a huge amount of time, a huge amount of spend on wasted hours just because we’ve been struggling with an old system. CIPHR’s allowed us to just streamline that process completely, and it’s meant that…I think ultimately we’re a lot more happier as well because we know that we’re spending our time on things that are important to the core functionality of our role as opposed to being tied down to, you know, an old struggling system.

Jamie: So, whether we’re looking at talent acquisition or whether we’re looking at engagement metrics, we need to be able to have quick, easy, accessible reports. We need to try and take out that old school stigma with HR. But it’s just a process of filing and starting paperwork. Actually, the enrichment you can get through employee data can drive some great transformational changes within the business. It has been useful for data reporting for us as well going on and because we’re new to it within a year, it’s only going to get better and better.

It’s just being able to have a quick and easy, accessible platform. I think it’s important that you get the Onboarding right when somebody comes in. So, if they say we’re going into a model where you’re going into Onboarding and they require a HR system, I’d be using CIPHR, based on the fact that you can hallmark it and you can actually put as much content as you want within there as well, from video to imagery to copy. So, yeah.

We’ve managed to customize it ourselves, so actually when I log on, particularly in mobile, it actually looks like it’s part of Pro-Direct. It is a really important one for us because we have a real in-house rule about…We’ve got a history of building everything ourselves. We didn’t tend to use many third party tools, but actually this offered much greater value for us. So the ability to actually hallmark it with our own stamp was absolutely essential for us.

Robyn: People can use it wherever they are, on a laptop, at home, on their phone wherever they can be. I know a lot of people do use it at home. So it’s compatible with all your iPads and all of that stuff which people love. Because if they do call in sick, they can use it straight there when they’re at home, and don’t have to worry about it when they come back in to work. That’s great. I’d say it is brilliant considering what we were using before. It’s a complete revelation. It’s easy to use. Reporting is great, essentially because we didn’t have anything to report on before. So we can do things automated. It just makes our life a lot easier and gives us more time to do the things that we want to do.
