Revealed: The best UK towns and cities for working at home with fast broadband

To determine the best locations for hybrid and remote working, based on access to fast broadband, HR software provider Ciphr ranked 100 major UK towns and cities against each other across five metrics – including the proportion of residential premises with access to superfast broadband, the proportion of residential premises with access to ultrafast broadband, the proportion of residential premises with access to full-fibre internet, median download speed (Mbps), and Median upload speed (Mbps).

Points were allocated based on where each town or city ranked between the highest and lowest values for each metric (for example, the location with the fastest download speed scored 1, while the location with the slowest download speed scored 0.2). The full results are below.
