AUGUST 2026
Release notes
A roundup of August 2026 Ciphr software updates, including features and functionality
Ciphr’s August 2026 releases bring improvements across HR, learning and payroll reporting – including expanded case management fields, smarter reporting for learners and administrators, and an enhancement to how reducing balances are tracked on the payroll report.
What’s new – August 2026
Ciphr HR
This month’s HR releases included expanded configuration options, fixes to future-dated pay changes, and payroll syncing improvements.
-
Case management: expanded further information fields – now up to 40 text fields and 60 date fields can be configured (number fields remain at 20)
-
Benefits management: future-dated job and pay changes are now included, so upcoming pay changes show correctly ahead of time
-
Payroll management: improvements to personal details field syncing and re-employed leaver record migration
-
Job and pay: a new FTE salary field shows what an employee would earn at full-time equivalent, making it easier to compare pay fairly across full-time and part-time roles
-
Viewing documents: we've made it a little easier to preview documents in a browser, with further interface updates to follow

Ciphr LMS
The latest LMS release brings roadmap items for reporting and learner engagement alongside product enhancements.
- Reporting quality of life improvement: a new Training Hours Summary report shows total training hours per user, calculated from each completed activity’s configured duration and filterable by completion status – replacing the manual workaround of exporting Activity Results Detail into Excel
- Learner engagement: Rewards leaderboard visibility can now show all colleagues within a selected part of the organisation, giving learners full rankings; a new option (off by default) lets administrators enable this wider visibility
- Performance improvement: the nightly rules processing run is now optimised to process more rules within its allocated time

Ciphr Payroll
This month’s cloud payroll release delivers an enhancement to the reducing balances (loans) report. Loans now move through three tracked states – live, completing and complete – tied to the pay run that triggers completion, with a status indicator distinguishing “Completing” from “Completed.”
Also in this release:
-
Standardised employee columns across reports: Employee Pension, Costing by Employee and Deductions by Employee now share the same 15-column employee definition as the rest of the suite, in a consistent order, and group by employee record rather than name/Pay ID text matching
-
Customised report save fix: saving a report with more than 150 columns no longer returns an error
-
FPS null-state fix: resolved an issue where a deleted additional FPS could resurface as a stray submission on pay run close, or silently pick up incorrect values on edit
Why it matters
This month’s releases are all about accuracy and confidence in the data your teams rely on – from clearer training reporting and fairer leaderboards in LMS, to more complete HR configuration options, to a payroll report that reflects what’s really happening with reducing balances. Together, they mean less manual reconciliation and more trust in the numbers your team is working from.
