A roundup of May 2026 Ciphr software updates, including features and functionality

Ciphr’s May releases (2026-5) focus on reliability, intelligence, and mobile access. Highlights include a major upgrade to the AI assistant (AI chatbot), a new HR service release, and a stability-focused LMS service pack.

What’s new – May 2026 

Ciphr HR

This update includes a number of product fixes and marks an important milestone: the HR > Benefit integration is now in production. Currently feature-flagged, it will not be switched on for customers immediately.

Ciphr LMS

The LMS 2026.4 service pack landed for customers in the week commencing Monday 18 May. This service pack delivered multiple customer-led product enhancements.

Ciphr AI assistant (AI chatbot) 

May brings a major upgrade to the AI assistant (AI chatbot) which is currently available for early-adopters. Improvements include smarter, more reliable responses and improved conversation management. The AI assistant (AI chatbot) now operates with two new behind-the-scenes stages:

  • Planning – before answering a complex question, a faster AI model creates a step-by-step plan that the main model then follows, improving accuracy and consistency

  • Recovery – when something goes wrong mid-answer, the AI assistant (AI chatbot) now diagnoses the issue and decides whether to retry with a different approach, request clarification, or explain what it could not do and why. Retry budgets and circuit breakers prevent looping


Additional improvements delivered this month include:

  • Autogenerated conversation titles – conversations now receive a meaningful title rather than a date/time stamp

  • Editable conversation titles – users can rename any conversation

  • Mobile availability – the AI assistant (AI chatbot) is now accessible on mobile with the same ‘Ask’ button, capabilities, and conversation history
