Chris Berry becomes Ciphr’s CEO with immediate effect

Ciphr, the leading provider of HR software solutions to small and mediumsized organisations in the UK, today (16 April) announces changes to its board.

Chris Berry, Ciphr’s founder and deputy chair, will take over from Andrew Carwardine as CEO with immediate effect.

Before moving to his current role as deputy chair, Chris Berry led Ciphr for more than 20 years, overseeing, in 2011, Ciphr’s transition to become the UK’s first SaaS-only provider of HCM services – a decision which paved the way for the company’s recent, remarkable growth.

Commenting on the change, Alastair Hazell, Ciphr’s chair, said: “Andrew leaves having made a valuable contribution during his time at Ciphr. We wish Andrew the best of luck in the next stage of his career and I would like to thank him personally for his work here.

Following a record-breaking year in 2018, Ciphr has already enjoyed substantial revenue growth in 2019. Chris’s experience and deep expertise in the sector mean that his transition back into the role of CEO will not only be smooth but will also ensure that Ciphr is well positioned to make the most of the exciting opportunities in the HCM market.

Chris Berry, Ciphr’s CEO, said: “Ciphr’s HR, recruitment and learning solutions continue to lead the HCM market, helping small and mid-size organisations to work more effectively by connecting them to their people data. look forward to leading Ciphr again and maintaining our impressive growth by supporting our customers with new and innovative solutions.”
